Kabul Hosts Bowling Competition

The one-day bowling competition was held to select best players for the national team’s selection tournament this year.

At least 32 athletes attended a one-day bowling competition in Kabul on Thursday.

Mokaram Noori got the first position in the competition that was held to select best players for the national bowling team’s selection tournament. 

Six athletes were selected to play in the tournament.

“I feel excited. It was a great competition. Many efforts were made by the bowling federation to make this event happen,” Noori said.

“The level of the completion was high. I got the third position among 32 athletes,” said Samir Aziz, an athlete, said.

The National Olympic Committee said the event will support bowling in the country.

“We hope that bowling will find its place among athletes in Afghanistan,” said Hafiz Wali Rahimi, head of the National Olympic Committee.

“The competition had a high level. I congratulate those who succeeded in this event,” said Robina Jalali, deputy chairperson of the committee.

In this competition, Noori got 224 scores, Samir Aziz got 183 and Azimullah got 167 scores to clinch the first, second and third positions respectively.

The Bowling Federation says such competitions were held in Balkh and Herat provinces to pick good players for the national team’s selection tournament.
