Although the exact date of Moscow meeting on Afghan war and peace is yet to become clear, Afghan officials have declared that they are ready to meet with representatives of Taliban in Moscow meeting.
Russia’s Special Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov has said the Afghan officials confirmed that work is ongoing on the content of Moscow meeting, Russia’s Tass News Agency reported quoting Izvestia newspaper.
According to Kabulov, he talked with Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Nasir Ahmad Andisha and Andisha said Moscow conference composition is now being put together.
Kabulov said now the critical thing about Moscow meeting is not the date but is the content that should be put together.
“Kabul is determined to participate in Moscow-hosted meeting. Now we are in the process of developing modalities for this participation. Currently, the main thing is not the date, but the content, so this is the part that we are working on,” Kabulov said as quoted by Izvestia.
Moscow meeting was supposed to be held in September 4, but a few days before the meeting, Kabul refused to participate in the meeting.
Recently, Kabul confirmed it will attend the meeting that will be co-chaired by Afghanistan and Russia.
