Afghan NSA Meets China’s Foreign Minister

The National Security Advisor’s Office says the NSA will hold talks with Chinese officials on bilateral relations and Afghan peace. 

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday met with Afghanistan’s National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib who is on a two-day visit in Beijing.

The two sides discussed bilateral ties and other mutual issues on Afghanistan and China. 
Wang said 

The NSA office said that in this meeting, the Afghan National Security Advisory and China’s Foreign Minister discussed mutual interest issues including Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process, security and stability in the region and strengthening bilateral ties.

Earlier in the day, the National Security Advisor’s Office said in a statement that Mohib will hold talks with senior Chinese officials on Afghanistan-China relations, an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process and strategic cooperation between the two countries.

His visit comes as President Ghani’s special envoy Umer Daudzai is on a four-day visit in Pakistan to discuss the Afghan peace process with Pakistani officials as well as political and religious leaders.
